Linda Lenz

THE PATH.
Linda Lenz is a Cum Laude graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a concentration on Fine Art and Philosophy. She has explored many art mediums including soft sculpture, drawing and mosaics. While she never wants to be described as a certain type of artist, Linda has found that mosaics have become her ultimate medium of expression. She has lived in the Baja for the last nine years.

UNEXPECTED MATERIALS. NO RULES.
The combination of unexpected materials, including items like vintage jewelry incorporate the dreams and energy of past souls. Semi precious stones, sterling silver beads, pewter droplets and chains, as well as found objects including stone, bone, and shell, all find their way into Linda’s mosaics. She incorporates rare and valuable dichroic glass that has been manufactured by layering quartz crystals and precious metal oxides. This allows the finished glass to reflect various colors when struck by rays of light.

PHILOSOPHY AND INSPIRATION.
Linda’s inspiration also comes from the teachings of Nisaragadatta Maharaj, Indian Guru of non-dualism (I Am That). Philosophers and spiritual teachers including: Martin Buber, Jean Klein, and Rupert Spira. Artists: Marc Chagall, Frida Kahlo, Georgia O’Keefe, and Pablo Picasso are among her favorites as well as current artists: Bead artist, Betsy Youngquist, British mosaic artist, Becky Paton and dutch embroidery artist, Karin Van der Linden.

AN AMAZING AND RARE ENDORSEMENT BY THE MAESTRO.
The world renowned master mosaic artist, Guilio Menossi, referred to lovingly as “The Maestro” – wrote this about Linda’s work. (Translated from Italian) “Beautiful! A work that tells a story, a work that “lives.” Chasing a dream, a memory. These are the mosaics that I love! Beyond the technical…the heart, soul…beyond the technicalities, sometimes in the end in itself – poetry. Nothing has been inserted at random. Mosaic that tells a story.” 2008

THE REAL PURPOSE.
These mosaics are like a piece of jewelry for the walls of a home or business. In each piece there is the element of truth about the world as she sees it and the world she dreams to see. What she creates is a sharing of a precious connection to what is true, what is real and what is permanent beyond this temporary life.
