Meet the Artist:

Bug Apocalyptica (Alaine Rodriguez) is a multidisciplinary artist whose collage work emerged organically over years of experimentation—never planned, always discovered. A storyteller at heart, she authored a narrative featured in Meow Wolf’s Denver exhibition, creating not only the story but the accompanying visuals and interactive sound design. Her background in film, sound design, voiceover, DJing, and street art weaves quietly into her process, where even a single musical tone can open the doorway to a new story.
Her current body of work explores the strangeness and wonder of being human in this moment in time: our origins, our purpose, and the mystery of how we arrived in this experience. Through layered imagery and intuitive composition, she creates visual portals that invite viewers to consider the possibilities—are we living in a simulation, riding a round rock spinning through space, or participating in something far more enigmatic? Bug Apocalyptica’s work sits in that liminal space, blending play, inquiry, and imagination into visual stories that ask more questions than they answer.
